Aston Pathway Student is designed to help our Pathway students with the cost of travel to Pathway events held at Aston University.

Funds are available to:

  • Pathway students who have attended a Pathway event at Aston University campus.  
  • Funds are made available to you via the ASTON JOURNEY portal.

This is a contribution towards the cost of travel to a Pathway event held at Aston University campus and is based on your home postcode distance from Aston University. Pathway students whose home postcode is less than 10 miles from Aston University's campus will receive a £5 travel bursary. Pathway students whose home postcode is more than 10 miles from Aston University's campus will receive a £10 travel bursary. This information will be taken from the home postcode you declared on your Pathway student application form.

Funds can be withdrawn from the ASTON JOURNEY portal as cash to support your travel costs.

If you are eligible for Aston Pathway Student funds, you will receive an email to your email address as indicated on your Pathway student application form within 3-5 working days following the event that you have attended.

Eligible Pathway students do not need to apply. If you are eligible, you will receive an email to your email address (as given on your Pathway student application form) with instructions for logging on to the ASTON JOURNEY portal. The email will come from ku/oc/yenruoJnotsA//ofnI/tnedutS. The earliest date that funds will become available is within 3-5 working days of the event that you have attended.

The credit is not transferable to another individual.

No, you can only claim the travel bursary for yourself.

In certain circumstances the accounts of students may be suspended or closed and any unspent balances removed, e.g. if there is any misconduct in relation to their accounts or a student leaves the Pathway programmes.

Spending the funds

The funds will be paid as online credit which will be uploaded to your individual account on the ASTON JOURNEY portal and can be withdrawn as cash.

No, but the funds must be used before Friday 26th July 2024.

You can use your funds towards the cost and top up the difference with your own credit/debit card or PayPal. Friends and family can also top up your account.

Any outstanding balance will no longer be available to use after Friday 26th July 2024.

Terms & Conditions

1. Award details
These terms and conditions apply only to Aston Pathway Student which is being awarded for the first time in the academic year 2023/24.  
Aston Pathway Student funds are awarded to help support travel costs of all eligible Pathway students.

  • Aston Pathway Student funds are available to Pathway students who: Have attended a Pathway event held at Aston University campus.
  • Have confirmed as attended by the Pathway Team.
  • Any unused balances will expire on Friday 26th July 2024 and will no longer be available to withdraw or spend at that date. 

2. Eligibility
To be eligible for Aston Pathway Student funds, you must be resident in the UK and meet the criteria below:

  • A Pathway student who has attended a Pathway event held at Aston University

Exclusions:

  1. Any accompanying guests.
  2. Pathway students who did not attend the event or whose attendance is not confirmed by the Pathway Team.

3. Value and Spending of Funds

  1. This is a contribution towards the cost of travel to a Pathway event held at Aston University campus and is based on your home postcode distance from Aston University. Pathway students whose home postcode is less than 10 miles from Aston University's campus will receive a £5 travel bursary. Pathway students whose hoe postcode is more than 10 miles from Aston University's campus will receive a £10 travel bursary. This information will be taken from the home postcode you declared on your Pathway student application form.
  2.  Funds will be available to withdraw from www.AstonJourney.co.uk.
  3.  Any unused balances remaining on Friday 26th July 2024  will no longer be available to withdraw or spend.

4. Removal or suspension of Funds

  1. Your account will be closed and credit balances lost if you misuse or commit any misconduct in connection with your account or in other circumstances if the University deems such action to be necessary or reasonable.
  2. The University reserves the right to suspend or remove future credits of awards at any time without notice.  The University will not be responsible if the crediting of any funds is delayed or prevented due to circumstances outside its control.
  3. If you are removed or drop out of the Pathway programme, any unused credit balances will be lost.

5. Management of Aston Pathway Student
Aston Pathway student is a collaboration between the University and JS Group Limited (JSG).  JSG is responsible for the ASTON JOURNEY portal: www.AstonJourney.co.uk and students who buy learning materials and other products via the portal are buying from JSG.

  2. No responsibility is accepted by the University for (i) any orders placed which are alleged to be lost, damaged, defective or stolen or are alleged either not to have been delivered or to have been delivered late; or (ii) credits of any refunds to student accounts to which students may from time to time be entitled.
  3. You are responsible for all activity on your Aston Pathway Student account and must keep your username and password confidential and secure.

6.     Changes to terms and conditions
The University reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Material changes will be notified to students.
