Aston Extra is a scholarship designed to give students the best start to their academic year at Aston.

The scheme awards £50 to spend in all years of study (excluding the placement year), subject to you continuing to meet the eligibility criteria as set out in the Scholarship Eligibility procedures for your relevant year of entry which is available here.  

Aston Extra incorporates both the 'Aston Success Scheme' and 'Aston Widening Participation Success Scheme', the name of the scheme you will be awarded under Aston Extra is dependent upon your household income. Students only receive either the Aston Widening Participation Success Scheme or the Aston Success Scheme, they are unable to receive both schemes in any academic year.

The University will automatically assess your eligibility for Aston Extra when you have fully enrolled or re-enrolled for the subsequent academic year at Aston, you do not need to apply for these schemes. You will receive further information about these schemes through My Aston Portal (MAP).

1. Award details

The terms and conditions for Aston Extra and the two schemes it encompasses (Aston Success Scheme' and 'Aston Widening Participation Success Scheme') are available here for the relevant year of entry.
Any unused balances will expire on 31 MAY 2024 and will no longer be available to withdraw or spend at that date. 

2. Eligibility

To be eligible for Aston Extra you will need to meet all criteria as set out in the Scholarship Eligibility procedures for your relevant year of entry which is available here.

3. Value and Spending of Funds

1. Aston Extra will provide £50 in total.
2. Funds will be available to withdraw from www.AstonJourney.co.uk.
3. Any unused balances remaining at 31 MAY 2024 will no longer be available to withdraw or spend.

4. Removal or suspension of Funds

1. Removal or suspension of funds will be applied as set out in the Scholarship Eligibility procedures for your relevant year of entry which is available here.
2. Your account will be closed and credit balances lost if you misuse or commit any misconduct in connection with your account or in other circumstances if the University deems such action to be necessary or reasonable.
3. The University reserves the right to suspend or remove future credits of awards at any time without notice.  The University will not be responsible if the crediting of any funds is delayed or prevented due to circumstances outside its control.

5. Management of Aston Extra

1. Aston Extra is a collaboration between the University and JS Group Limited (JSG).  JSG is responsible for the ASTON JOURNEY portal: www.AstonJourney.co.uk and students who buy learning materials and other products via the portal are buying from JSG.
2. If you have any queries about your Aston Extra scholarship account or items ordered please email Student.Info@AstonJourney.co.uk
3. No responsibility is accepted by the University for (i) any orders placed which are alleged to be lost, damaged, defective or stolen or are alleged either not to have been delivered or to have been delivered late; or (ii) credits of any refunds to student accounts to which students may from time to time be entitled.
4. You are responsible for all activity on your Aston Extra account and must keep your username and password confidential and secure.

6. Changes to terms and conditions

The University reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Material changes will be notified to students.
